Our Ethos

At Upper Clatford Youth Football Club we believe in promoting a team ethic. Whilst we do all we can to improve individual skills and talent during training, once a game starts, it's all about the TEAM. In our view, individuals don't win games, but TEAMS do.

This is a great lesson in life, as well as football. We also try to develop other life skills such as building self-confidence, communication and leadership skills. We teach our players to show magnanimity in victory and resilience in defeat.

We do all we can to ensure that our players are treated equally and that all players (within the constraints of the League rules) get a chance each week to play a part of the game. Rolling subs were introduced at the request of Upper Clatford.

Our Managers and coaches are all trained to FA level 1 standard, fully DBS checked, have Safeguarding and First Aid certificates. We also have several Child Welfare Officers who are there to ensure rules and regulations are followed correctly. Should any problems arise they are able to act promptly to ensure that the child is fully protected and safe.
